Six People Who Could Help You Buy Your Home
Whether you are a first-time buyer or not, the world of buying a house is a complex and messy one! You need to do all that you can to make this purchase as smooth as possible, and you want to simplify the process from start to finish. Focusing on the money is one thing but focusing on the people who can help you to buy your house is the best way to go. Being a people person is a good thing here because the more help that you can get to buy your house and get moved into it, the better!
Most people go into a home purchase thinking that only three people are involved in the transaction: you, the seller, and the bank. The thing is, there are far more people than that! If you’re trying to buy real estate, you need more people to take advice from, get information from and give information to during the process. With this in mind, here are six people who will pop up through your home buying journey.
- Loan Officer. You will spend a lot of time working with your loan officer during the process of getting a mortgage. Not only will they help you to get the funds that you need for the property, but your mortgage loan officer will also be there for you from your first phone call to the end. They will work to see what you can afford to buy and what you can’t, and they’ll advise you every step of the way.
- Real Estate Agent. This isn’t a must, but a lot of home buyers use a real estate agent to help them to buy a house. They’ll be involved from start to finish from finding the house, drafting up an offer, and helping you to negotiate prices and terms. Once you have the signed agreement they’ll even work with you for the inspections and the closing.
- Lawyer. Sometimes, experts at places like Boulder Legal Group can be involved in the process of buying a house. Every state has its own laws as to whether a lawyer needs to be involved, but this is where your hard research comes in!
- Settlement Agent. As well as a real estate agent, you need a settlement agent to work with you to reach a signed written agreement to sell the property. They’ll work with you until the home is transferred to you and they’ll help you to close on the house so it’s yours!
- Inspector. Ideally, you want a home inspector involved in the process of buying a house. They come in, inspect the property and then they’re off again. You might not hear from them again after they inspect the property to ensure it’s up to code.
- Appraiser. It’s unlikely you’ll see much of this one because they do their thing, appraise the house to ascertain its value and that’s it.
These six people are going to be vital for your house sale to go through without a hitch!
