Some Things Nobody Tells You About Moving Houses

Moving houses is one of those life things that most of us will get around to at some point, and we all like to think that we have a good idea of what it entails, but the reality can sometimes be a bit different to the ideas we have in our heads, especially when there are some things that nobody ever really mentions about them.

When it comes to moving house, you need to be as informed as possible for it to go as smoothly as possible, so here are a few things you will want to know about the process that isn’t often talked about:

It’s more stressful than you could imagine

Okay, so the stress of moving house is talked about pretty often, but nobody ever seems to talk about just how constantly, unrelentingly stressful it really is. From finding a reputable moving company to deciding what you’re going to take, packing it all up, and transporting it safely to unpacking it all at the other end, you will be left tearing your hair out wondering why you ever thought it was a good idea, at several points. Now that you know, you can prepare for it with some extra meditation or by booking a spa day for when it’s all over – thank me later.

It’s hard to find a good moving company

Finding a good moving company like Allied Van Lines, who turn up on time and take care,  isn’t impossible, but it’s not exactly a walk in the park either. There are so many movers who will turn up late, handle your stuff with little care, and use every excuse in the book to do as little work as possible that it can seem like a nightmare. Luckily, you can minimize your chances of being stuck with one of these companies by collecting word of mouth testimonials from trusted friends and by carefully checking out online reviews for anything untoward. Do this or you may well live to regret it.

Normal life quill be disrupted

When you’re in the process of moving, the house will be a mess. You’ll have boxes everywhere and you’ll be distracted to the point of des[air, which means it’ll be harder to carry on as normal whether that’s cooking healthy meals, juggling work, childcare and move-related stuff or…whatevewr – it will all seem harder for a while – but remember it will pass.

Packing takes forever

Packing takes way longer than you could ever imagine, so the sooner you get started on that particular task, the better.

You have more junk than you imagine

When it comes to packing, most people find out, much to their dismay, that they have more stuff than they ever imagine, and more of it is junk than they would have thought possible.  Use your move as an opportunity to declutter and get rid of anything you don’t truly need or love and life on the other side will be easier when you have a lighter load to unpack and less junk to take up space in your beautiful new home.

Now you know, you can rock your move and have an amazing time in your new home!
